Senior Systems Engineer – Wireless MAC Layer, Wireless Protocols, Wired Layer 2/3 (Code: SSE-MAC)
CarrierComm seeks experienced systems engineers to develop digital communications systems for wireless applications. We are looking for individuals with strong theoretical backgrounds and hands-on experience to:

  • Architect advanced data communications systems, with emphasis on advanced Wireless MAC and Ethernet technologies; including wireless MAC (OFDM, LTE, WiFi, WiMax), wired Ethernet Layer 2 and Layer 3 inter-networking, pseudowire (circuit emulation), Carrier and Metro Ethernet, synchronous Ethernet, IEEE 1588, and Ethernet header compression.
  • Research standards, components and technologies.
  • Prototype, test and analyze data communication systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to the hardware and software design teams for the design, integration, performance verification and production testing of Ethernet and SDH/PDH designs.
  • Generate and maintain specifications.

Qualifications:

This position requires a minimum 5 years experience in the design of digital communication systems and/or network hardware. Position requires a BSEE with MSEE degree preferred. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills to interact with design teams, customers, as well as internal business and marketing groups. The candidate must be able to use their experience to aid in troubleshooting and solving of system related problems. A qualified candidate’s experience should include:

  • Wireless MAC design and implementation (LTE, WiFi, WiMax or similar).
  • Working closely with PHY implementation team.
  • Ethernet system design and implemention for 10/100/1000 and 10G Ethernet technologies, including experience with IP routing, MPLS, VLAN, QoS, STP/RSTP/MSTP, EtherChannel/LACP, multicast, and rate scaling.
  • Interpretation of regulatory information and test results.
  • Generation of Specification and Requirements for implementation of digital hardware and software.
