Systems Engineer (Code: SE)
CarrierComm seeks experienced systems engineers to develop digital communications modems and radios for wireless applications. We are looking for individuals with strong theoretical backgrounds and hands-on experience to:
- Architect advanced wireless modems with adaptive equalization and adaptive interference cancellation algorithms
- Develop hardware-based algorithms for digital communications systems.
- Develop and run bit-true, latency-true simulations of digital communications algorithms.
- Perform high-level analysis of real world effects such as phase noise, group delay distortion, compression, and gain imbalance.
- Perform link-planning analyses for wireless networks, including link budget, fade margin, and overall channel analysis.
- Provide technical assistance to the hardware and software design teams for the design, integration,
performance verification and production testing of modem designs.
- Generate and maintain specifications.
This position requires a minimum 5 years experience in the design of digital communication systems and/or network hardware. Position requires a MSEE or PhD degree. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills to interact with design teams, customers, as well as internal business and marketing groups. The candidate must be able to use their experience to aid in troubleshooting and solving of system related problems. A qualified candidate’s experience should include:
- PSK, QAM, and OFDM modulation techniques and implementation
- Forward error correction coding algorithms and implementation
- Adaptive interference cancellation (XPIC) algorithm architecture, design, and integration
- Digital filtering, equalization, A/D & D/A converters, digital PLL and NCO techniques
- Matlab modeling of communications systems and implementation effects
- C++ simulation techniques for chip-based modem designs
- Modeling and simulation of analog circuits and systems is highly desirable
- Interpretation of regulatory information and test results
- Generation of Specification and Requirements for implementation of digital hardware and RF circuits
