FPGA/ASIC Development Engineer (Code: FADE)
CarrierComm seeks an FPGA/ASIC development engineer to develop digital communications radios and network hardware for point to point and point to multi-point systems. We are looking for individuals with strong theoretical backgrounds and hands-on experience to:
- Responsible for design, integration, performance verification and production testing of modem and/or network interface FPGA/ASIC designs.
- Generate and maintain Specifications, Interface Control Documents, and Test Documentation
The preferred candidate will have 3-7 years experience in the design of digital communication modem systems. Position requires a BSEE degree (MS preferred). Good customer and team interface skills required. Must be able to work in a hands on lab/integration environment on a variety of challenging hardware platforms. Your experience should include:
- PSK & QAM modulation techniques, digital filtering, error correction coding, equalization, A/D & D/A converters, digital PLL and NCO techniques
- Ethernet, T1/E1, DS-3, SONET/SDH, or other network interface designs
- The detailed design of key subsystems in an advanced radio system
- FPGA design using Altera and Xilinx families and/or ASIC design
- Use of design tools including synthesis, simulation, and timing tools
- Use of third party IP cores including communications, microprocessor, and PHY cores
- VHDL experience is a plus
